One of the most important things we need to realize is that everybody is different and has a different metabolic rate. The amount of CBD that you should take to get the results you want will be different to someone else. Most CBD products you buy will have a dosage written on the bottle my suggestion is to absolutely ignore that and follow some simple steps to work out the effective dose for you, this is referred to quite often as the sweet spot on websites.
It is really important to note that the method of CBD consumption will make a big difference as to how much is absorbed into your body; so 120 milligrams product might not be the same as the next 20 milligram product. My advice is to find a product and method that works for you and stick with it, then you’re not messing with dosage and you are not confusing your body by absorbing a different amount and by using different ways.
Steps to Follow to Find the Right CBD Dosage
Work out the Amount per Mil
The first thing to do is to make sure you have worked out the amount of CBD per mil from your bottle. Each product is different and the number that the bottle gives you varies. While some bottles may seem to have a higher dose or a lower dose actually, it is more about the concentrate than about the amount you are getting. It is very easy to work out the amount of CBD that you are getting per mil. Work out how many mils are in the bottle and divide that by the number of mils in the bottle and that will tell you how many milligrams you are getting CBD per mil of oil. Most CBDs will come with a dropper so you will be able to measure quite successfully the dose you are getting. Once you have worked out the number of milligrams of CBD per mil of oil, you can then work out the effective dose for you.
Find Your Sweet Spot
Now, remember everyone is different so what someone else is taking is not relevant to you whatsoever. Don’t ask other people what they are taking and don’t mimic that because it is absolutely irrelevant to your sweet spot and your effective dose is absolutely unique to you. So the way to find that sweet spot is to start low. If you take a total of five milligrams per day, try that for a few days and then increasing the amount of oil over the next few days again and keep doing that until you find the most effective dose. So my recommended cycle would be to start from 2.5 milligrams in the morning to 5 milligrams at night try that for three days. After three days, if you are still not getting the results you want up that take 5 milligrams in the morning, 5 milligrams at night just keep doing that and eventually, you will get the results you want without taking too much oil. The other benefit to the fact you are taking less is that your oil should last you longer. If you only need 5 milligrams of CBD per day, then you will use much less oil and the bottle will last you longer than if you are taking 30 milligrams a day.
How to Calculate CBD Dosage for Vape Pens
Dosage is easier to calculate with oils, capsules, and measurable quantities of CBD, it gets harder when we look at a vape pen. To get a consistent dose every single time you vape means you would have to be taking exactly the same amount in each time. You would also need to know exactly how many times you take the CBD before you finish the whole bottle to break it down. If you are someone that vapes and vapes all day then that will be a big difference for you and it will be much more difficult for you to work out exactly how much you are getting and to keep that consistent so just be careful that you are not taking too much by using multiple ingestion methods. If it is something you are doing occasionally, I think it is easier to manage because you can simply vape less if you are finding you are going over the required dose or if you are getting some side effects you don’t want.
The biggest piece of advice I can give when working out your dosage is to not quit too early. I have spoken to quite a lot of people that said they have been trying CBD for the past few days and it is not working for them. The truth is you will not get the full effect in the first two or three days although you might get lucky and get some results. I found many people that are dealing with pain management get really quick results. Most people will have to use it for a few days to build up the receptors and to learn to increase the effects of the CBD oil.
The Side Effects of Using CBD
Well, there are very few side effects; in some studies a small group of people has experienced things like lightheadedness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and diarrhea. I think the one that is the most important to know is that CBD can inhibit hepatic drug metabolism so if you are using medication it is best just to check with your doctor to make sure that CBD will not have any effect on the medication you are taking.
The most important thing here is that you find an effective dose for you as we have all got different metabolic rates that will vary from person to person. So don’t waste your time trying to mimic what other people do to get the same results, instead, you should spend some time to work out your sweet spot, your own effective dose, and work out how much CBD you need to get the results you need. Different people and different conditions will always need a different dose and always going to take time to find that dose and see what is most effective but if you stick with it, it will be worth the wait.
