The Volcano vaporizer stands as yet another testament to the high standards of German design and manufacturing. It is often referred to as the “Mercedes-Benz of vaporizers” because of its quality, speed, and admittedly substantial price tag. However, no one who owns a Storz & Bickel Volcano vaporizer will dispute how true the well-known phrase “You get what you pay for” holds in this case.
The Volcano is a bag-filling vaporizer that comes in 2 styles. First there is the Volcano Digital that, as the name suggest, has a digital temperature display and control interface. Second is the Volcano Classic, which instead uses a knob to select temperature and LED lights to indicate when desired temperature is reached. Whichever model you decide on, you’ll get the same rapid, high-quality vapor extraction and delivery system. The Volcano is considered by many to be the top of its bag-filling class because of how easily and quickly it extracts.
Using the Volcano:
Ease of use is one of the main selling points of the Volcano. So, as expected, it takes very little time to get set up and start filling bags with dense, flavorful vapor. Switch the unit on by pressing the left button and select the desired temperature. It will take 3-5 minutes for the Volcano to reach the exact temperature you selected.
This is a good time to prepare your herbal substance for optimal vaporization by grinding it up. Afterwards, place your ground herbs into the filling chamber, place the filling chamber insert on top of the herbs, and then place the chamber on top of the Volcano. Click the bags valve onto the filling chamber and then press the button on the right to begin filling it.
In very little time you will have a bag full of pure, delicious vapor to enjoy. Just detach the bag from the filling chamber, attach the mouthpiece, press it against your lips and inhale. If you decide that you don’t want to use the whole bag immediately, you can simply set it down and come back to it later and it will still be there, thanks to the excellent bag valve designs.
Warranty and Extras:
Previously, the duration of the Volcano warranty period was determined by whether you had the digital or classic version. The Volcano Classic came with a 3 year manufacturers’ warranty while the Digital was backed by only a 2 year warranty. In April 2010 however, Storz & Bickel increased the warranty period on all Volcano Digital vaporizers by 1 year. So, no matter which version you decide on, you’ll get a full 3 year warranty period. Also, Storz & Bickel has affiliates in North America, so you won’t need to ship your Volcano to Germany if it ever needs repairs.
There are also 2 types of valve systems to select from, regardless of whether you get a Volcano Digital or Classic. There
